Wow. just wow. I’m truly in awe. Holly Jackson, you did it AGAIN. Just when I thought a sequel to AGGGTM could never be as good. It was. And when I learned that there was to be the third book, I thought there was absolutely no way it could beat the sequel. And again, I was so very wrong.
When you’ve watched that many true crime documentaries and police interviews and crime podcasts….. you struggle to be impressed by murder mystery books because you see too many flaws. You know how those plans just couldn’t work….. But damn. Holly Jackson has done RESEARCH. That’s what I praised about the first book, and the sequel and now this! This is the most consistent trilogy I have ever read where each book has just been so mind-blowingly BRILLIANT. Everything was so intricately thought out, with no loose ends.
I love stories where it all comes full circle. You can tell the author had this all planned out for a long time. This entire trilogy had me in awe with all its reveals and all the realisations I made. I found myself reading it as though I was a detective on the cases also. Analysing all the things that could go wrong and potential leads and evidence and all that…. and the plot was so expertly executed that I am just truly lost for words. Wow.
I understand this is quite a general review and more just for the trilogy as a whole but considering I like to try and keep my reviews spoiler-free and this IS the final book…. I feel like this is the best sort of review I can leave!
I understand this story is over now…. all questions answered…. but I am going to miss my yearly reads. The last two years for me have been ‘it’s summer…. new AGGGTM book? Nice.’ 😂
But I suppose I could just read the series all over again and just be wowed AGAIN!
But seriously though…. if you haven’t picked up this series yet…. what are you waiting for?
