My first ever EL James book to be honest, I am immediately drawn and not at all disappointed!!

Maxim is a not so responsible person but all came crashing when Maxim’s brother dies in an accident all of a sudden. He is put forth lots of responsibilities and work to take care of, while he has hardly come out of his-own life(his comfort nature).There comes Alessia as a house cleaner and immediately there is some spark between them.

Her sweet innocence, vulnerability, and unexposed nature draws us towards her character.Maxim feels immediately drawn towards her and the story slowly builds up thus not jumping straight to ripping clothes.Though Maxim’s life is a mess deep down he too craves for love,true love and ofcourse very protective around Alessia.

It was soo compelling to read, definitely a page turner (at least for me). Slowly and steadily the plot takes up some speed and Alessia finds Maxim by her side throughout her journey of running from her harsh reality, YES he’s got her back!!He eventually realizes what he has got for her is not just mere attraction but much more than that. While he also hides his true identity at the fear of loosing her.

Conclusion

Overall, I really enjoyed this book and the roller coaster of emotions it took me on. It had me gripped, wanting to keep reading more. I really enjoyed how it was written, switching between each of the two main characters perspectives; the male main character written in first person and the female in third person.

I loved reading about the different locations this book is set in; London, Cornwall (my home county) and Albania, taking the reader on a journey and keeping the story interesting. Of course there are the sex scenes, although these aren’t a feature until the second half of the book where it is a more natural progression of the story line. There is suspense, heartache and romance. A brilliant book where I equally wanted to know what would happen next but also didn’t want to end. I think any fan of the Fifty Shades series would also enjoy this book.
